Berkeley, California has been known across the country for its progressive initiatives, but the latest move by the city council there has the internet buzzing. NBC Bay Area reports city code will be changed to eliminate anything gender-specific after a vote this week. The words men, women, he and she are obvious, but there are some words that are getting a lot more attention.

The council member who proposed the change says the language puts city code in line with the city as a whole. That council member, Rigel Robinson, is the youngest in the city's history at the age of 23.
