United States Senator Bill Cassidy talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the current state of Coronavirus preparedness, both in the medical community and government planning and reaction.

Cassidy, who is also a physician, tells KEEL listeners that reports that virus particles can hang in the air for up to five hours is taken from a National Institute of Health study "that is an extreme case," but also underlines the importance of "social distancing."

And in reference to legislation regarding the virus, the Senator says, "We're trying to keep the economy going." Cassidy adds that, according to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, "checks should be going out by the end of the first week of April."

The amount of the economic stimulus checks, that would be going to all American adults, has not yet been determined, but the amount is expected to be $1,000 or higher.
