Senator David Vitter joined City-Parish President Joey Durel today on 'Lafayette Live' and we questioned him on the recent Supreme Court ruling on healthcare.

Senator Vitter said,

"Personally I was very disappointed with this ruling.  I would not have been shocked at either basic outcome.  I was shocked by the nature of the majority and the nature of the ruling particularly from Chief Justice Roberts.  But it is what it is.  One thing it clearly does is it puts the issue "front and center" in the political debate and I don't think it's going away between now and the election."

According to City-Parish President Joey Durel the local economy continues to do well.  Durel said,

"We just found out recently that of mid-size cities in American we are number one and for all cities in America we are rated fourth for job creation."
