Sex Offender Arrested After New Allegations

A man from Rayne was arrested by deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office after allegations of child rape were made.

Detectives say they have charged 42-year-old Joseph Menard with two counts of first degree rape and two counts of molestation of a juvenile.

The man is registered Tier 2 sex offender.

Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson's office says complaints were made that Menard had harmed to minor children.

These two children were allegedly harmed while visiting Menard's home.

Menard's bond has been set at $700,000.
