Should Bill Cassidy Apologize For ‘Plantation’ Remark
U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy is having to defend his words after he said during an interview that U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid runs the upper chamber "like a plantation."
Reid, who is asking for an apology, said the remark was offensive and insensitive.
Fellow Republican and candidate Col. Rob Maness is also calling for Cassidy to apologize, saying, "Congressman Cassidy may not realize this but the language he used included a term that is incredibly offensive to many Americans and he should immediately apologize."
At least one listener to "Nathan & Bernie in the Morning" said Cassidy's comments signaled that racism was still alive and well in the country.
What do you think? Should Cassidy have chosen his words more carefully, and should he apologize. Let us know in the comments section below.
