St. Martinville Woman Dies in Single-vehicle Crash

60-year-old Arlene Higginbotham of St. Martinville is dead following a single-vehicle crash earlier this month.

Troopers say it happened on LA Hwy 3039 near Caliste Olivier Road in St. Martin Parish when her car ran off the road and overturned before crashing into a ditch. Authorities say she was unrestrained and was ejected.

Impairment is unknown as authorities continue to investigate.

Troop I has investigated 58 fatal crashes resulting in 60 deaths.
