St. Mary Parish Narcotics Division Makes Three Arrests Following Traffic Stop
Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division were traveling on Highway 90 in Patterson when they saw a car tun into the median without using a turn signal.
The officers then pulled the car over, and they received permission from 18-year-old Taylor Brown to search his car.
Detectives says they found:
- A marijuana cigarette
- A cigar wrap
- A small bag of marijuana
- A larger bag of marijuana
After investigation more, detectives learned that Brown and 24-year-old Trevor Thomas bought the marijuana. They then gave one of the bags to a 16-year-old from Patterson who intended to sell the drug.
All three suspects were arrested. Here are the three suspects and their charges:
Taylor R. Brown, 18, 415 Mike Drive, Patterson, LA is charged with the following:
- Distribution of marijuana
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
- Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Trevor I. Thomas, 24, 433 Mike Dr. Patterson, LA is charged with the following:
- Distribution of marijuana
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
- Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of open container
Juvenile male, 16, Patterson is charged with the following:
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
The 16-year-old was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Brown and Thomas were taken to the parish jail.
