Suspect & Victim Identified in Rayne Homicide
UPDATE: 27-year-old Trey Prejean has been named the suspect in the suspected homicide of 38-year-old Dalvin Washington of Rayne. Chief Stelly says an arrest warrant has been issued for Prejean for Second Degree Murder. No bond has been set.
According to our news partners at KATC, Prejean was arrested thanks to an anonymous tip.

UPDATE: Rayne Police say the victim has died and the case is now being investigated as a homicide. The victim's identity is being withheld until next of kin is notified.

Around noon Monday, a victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds on The Boulevard at its intersection of Arceneaux Drive and Rayne Police are investigating.
In a press release, Rayne Chief of Police Carroll J. Stelly says the victim has been transported to Lafayette General. Chief Stelly says an arrest is expected "in the near future" as detectives are interviewing witnesses and processing the scene for evidence.
