The Lafayette Parish School System has announced the extension of the closure of all its schools and facilities until Wednesday, January 17, 2024, due to the ongoing extreme cold weather and below-freezing temperatures affecting the area.
According to an announcement sent out by the district on Sunday evening, there will be a staggered release of schools in light of the severe weather in Lafayette on Monday.
As of Thursday, July 27th, the Lafayette Parish School System will be participating in the USDA's Community Eligibility Program for this upcoming school year, 2023-2024.
Lafayette Parish School System announced that class will be in session as normal at Paul Breaux Middle School on Monday (May 9) after a threat was made on social media.
