Tattoo Experience Set to be Different in Phase Two
As many of you are aware, tattoo parlors will be allowed to open in Phase Two. However, the process of getting inked will be different.
Personally, I love tattoos, I have five of them myself... Although only two that I will ever talk about... You have to keep some things secret, am I right?
Anyways, like so many of you here in Shreveport-Bossier, I was perplexed with the "until further notice" shutdown of Louisiana tattoo parlors. It didn't make sense to me, that tattoo parlors were being singled-out in our state's COVID-19 guidelines, and that they were seemingly the only type of business given the "until further notice" verbiage.
However, when Phase Two was announced by our governer this week, tattoo parlors were listed with the businesses that could re-open once our state enters the new phase on June 5th.
While it is good news, and news worth celebrating that our locally owned tattoo parlors can reopen this weekend, there are some new guidelines for tattoo shops and tattoo enthusiasts to follow. The main guideline to follow is that state-wide, all tattoo customers will need to set an appointment with an artist at a shop prior to receiving the ink. The state won't allow walk-ins at tattoo shops any time soon. Also, masks or face coverings will be mandatory inside of all Louisiana tattoo shops.
Even before the COVID-19 shutdown, many could argue that tattoo parlors were one of the cleanest and most-sanitized buildings one could enter. I'm sure things will only be amplified in terms of cleanliness once tattoo shops open their doors again on June 5th.
