Today has been one of the darkest and saddest days in the history of sports. Here's the moment that Tiger Woods realized what had happened.

Today, not just the basketball world or the sports world, but the entire world has been in shock. One of the greatest basketball players in history, a true icon whose reach spanned far past the hardwood is no longer with us. Kobe Bryant, his 13 year old daughter Gianna, and 7 others unfortunately perished in a tragic helicopter crash this morning in California.

I feel like every one received the news with the same feeling. A feeling of skepticism at first, followed by an incredibly deep, surreal sadness. Kobe Bryant was much more than a legendary basketball player. He was a legendary person, husband, and father.

Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant were great friends, both reaching a plateau of success and popularity that few will ever be able to relate to in the world of sports.

Tiger was in the middle of his final round when the tragedy took place. He golfed the entire round without the knowledge of his friend's passing, and later said that he didn't understand why so many fans were shouting "Do it for Mamba!"

It wasn't until he walked off the 18th green when he heard the news. His caddie shared the information with him as he was walking back to the clubhouse, to which a startled Tiger quickly responded with a poignant, "Excuse me?"

See that moment, as well as his post-round interview below.
