Three suspects believed to be responsible for a rash of vehicle burglaries in Crowley have been taken into custody.

Two of those suspects are juveniles, whose names cannot be released, according to Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson.

The third suspect, 32-year-old Walter Guidry of Morse, was arrested by members of the police department's burglary detail. Guidry was found with a number of burglary tools. He also has an extensive history of theft, burglary, and narcotics arrests, according to Gibson.

Gibson says numerous officers were reassigned "to work an operation to identify persons who may be involved" in a string of 30 burglaries, mainly concentrated in the city's north and northeastern areas.

"We realize that there are multiple groups of persons out committing these crimes and we will continue our efforts to identify suspects and charge them with their crimes," Gibson says.

Meanwhile, Gibson says a person believed to be responsible for another vehicle burglary was caught on camera between midnight and 1 a.m. on April 28.
