Traffic Alert: Lane Closure on I-10 Eastbound on Atchafalaya Basin Bridge Friday
As we head into the weekend motorists traveling to Baton Rouge or the New Orleans are will want to be aware of a lane closure on the Basin Bridge that may slow travel time.
The closure comes as thousands are expected to travel toward Ponchatoula for the annual Strawberry Festival, potentially causing traffic delays for festivalgoers heading eastbound Friday afternoon.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that the outside lane of I-10 eastbound at mile marker 127 on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge will be closed on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for bridge deck repairs.
The roadway will remain open to regular traffic, but oversized loads will face a 12-foot lane restriction through the work zone. Emergency vehicles will still have access, though some delays are expected.
Drivers are advised to take an alternate route and to use caution when traveling through the construction zone. DOTD urges all motorists to stay alert for crews and equipment.
