21-year-old Logan Bertrand and 18-year-old Carlos Juan Flores have been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a neighboring mobile home located in the trailer park they live in.

Fire investigators say three fires were set to the structure in a near 24-hour time period. The first fire was a minor one and utilities were removed from service. The second fire involved a larger fire that was put out by the Eunice Fire Department. Authorities say there were multiple areas of origin where the fires were intentionally set.

Witnesses say Bertrand and Flores were spotted near the structure at the time of the latest fire and became suspects in the case.

State Fire Marshal investigators found the trailer was vacated by the tenants just days before the fires following a break-in at the trailer, in which Bertrand and Flores are suspected of being involved in. That incident is being investigated by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say Bertrand admitted to breaking into the structure, but became emotional when questioned about setting the fires. Flores would not speak to deputies.

Both men have been booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail for one count each of Simple Arson and Criminal Trespass.
