Two Men Arrested On Drug And Stolen Gun Charges In Breaux Bridge

53-year-old Sidney Sylvester and 25-year-old Broderick Sylvester have been booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center after being arrested on various drug and stolen gun charges.

St. Martin Parish spokesperson Major Ginny Higgins says agents acting on a complaint of illegal drug activity at a home on Castille Street found crack cocaine base, cocaine HCL, marijuana, hydrocodone tablets, synthetic marijuana and firearms.

Major Higgins says one of the guns was stolen from Lafayette.

Broderick Sylvester faces the following charges:

• La. R.S. 40:966A(1) Possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS Synthetic marijuana

• La. R.S. 40:966 Possession of schedule I CDS marijuana
• La. R.S. 40:966A(1) Possession with intent to distribute schedule II cocaine HCL
• La. R.S. 14:95.7 Possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers
• La. R.S. 14:95.1 Possession of firearm by a person convicted of a felony
• La. R.S. 14:95E Possession of firearm in the presence of a CDS
• La. R.S. 14:69.1 Illegal possession of a stolen firearm
• La. R.S. 40:1023C Possession of drug paraphernalia

Sidney Sylvester faces the following charges:

• La. R.S. 40:1023C Possession of drug paraphernalia

Meanwhile, Major Higgins also announced the arrest of convicted sex offender 37-year-old Talaska Demouchet for allegedly failing to notify law enforcement of a change of address. Major Higgins says, after their department investigated the case, Demouchet was arrested in Opelousas and was arrested by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office. He currently sits in the St. Landry Parish Correctional Center on the following charge: Duty of Offender to Notify Law Enforcement of Change of Address
