A suspect in a deadly shooting on UL's campus is in custody, and a second is wanted.

That shooting happened on April 9 in Bourgeois Park on Coliseum Boulevard. John Sinegal, Jr., died from his wounds.

According to the UL police, Jayvien Mallery was arrested Friday in St. Martin Parish. He was later transferred to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, where he was booked on principal to second-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and carrying a firearm on school property.

Police say they are still searching for a second suspect. Tyquan Marshall is wanted on second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and carrying a firearm on school property charges. If you know where Marshall is, call the UL Police Department or 911.
