Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball begins NCAA Regional on Friday night, when they play host to the Weber St. Wildcats in the opening day of play in the Lafayette, La. Regional at Lamson Park.

The other two teams in the regional will be the Baylor Bears and the Mississippi St. Bulldogs, who will play the first game of the regional  on Friday afternoon.

Louisiana, the regular season Sun Belt Conference champions, will enter the regional with an overall record of 39-9. The Cajuns, who have played in a regional every year since 1990, with the exception of one, has won 8 regionals, and have appeared in the NCAA Super Regionals in three-consecutive seasons, including four of the last five.

The Cajuns, seeded 13th nationally, qualified for the Women's College World Series last year, and have done so six times in program history.

Weber St., Big Sky Tournament champions, will head into the regional with an overall record of 35-17.

Baylor will face Mississippi St. in the first game of the regional on Friday at 5:30 pm, followed by UL/Weber St. at 8 o'clock.

The winner of the Lafayette, La. Regional will advance to the Super Regionals, where they will face either Auburn, the #7 national seed, South Alabama, Chattanooga, or Tennessee Tech.
