Severe weather is rolling through Acadiana forcing the Mayor of Ville Platte to declare a state of emergency for all parts of the Parish.

Mayor Jennifer Vidrine has also implemented a curfew until further notice according to KATC.

She asks that residents take shelter at this time.

CLECO is expected to restore power to the city as soon as possible.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported.

Several businesses have received major storm damage including Hebert's Boudin and Cracklin which had part of its roof taken off, and Champagne's quality food where windows have been blown out.

Residents are encouraged not to travel, and to remain in their homes during this time.
