(Washington, D.C.)

– U.S. Sen. David Vitter today announced that he will serve as ranking member on the subcommittee for Transportation and Infrastructure of the Environment and Public Works Committee in the 112th Congress.

“With my leadership position on the Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittee, I’ll be an influential voice for Louisiana priorities in the new water resources bill and in the upcoming highway bill,” said Vitter.  “This subcommittee has significant oversight of coastal restoration, levees, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and ports and maritime issues, and I’m excited about continuing the fight for what’s best for Louisiana.”
In addition to serving as ranking member on the Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittee, Vitter will move up to the second-highest position among Republicans on the full EPW committee.
