Following Waitr's announcement that the food delivery service would be paying its employees by the delivery and not by the hour anymore, the company announces it will layoff 2,300 employees on April 6, according to our news partners at KATC.

This layoff affects all company drivers in all area markets, including Lafayette and other cities across Louisiana.

Over the last 6 months, Waitr has enacted several layoffs and has seen their stock plunge following Chris Meaux's resignation as CEO.
