Gosh, I love to eat. It's just a fact that food and I will always be best friends. From cooking to consuming, and even the nap afterward, there are few things in life that bring me more joy. At some point in my life I would love to travel the country eating and this list is a great starting point.

Thrillist agrees, which is why they created "The Most Iconic Restaurant in Every State" list. They are quick to say that these restaurants are not necessarily the oldest in each state, but they are ones that have been around for more than 30 years and are still crowd favorites. Being able to stick around for a long time and continue to be loved are two key indicators of iconic-ness.

They determined Commander's Palace is the most iconic for Louisiana.

There are a bajillion restaurants that could be considered iconic in New Orleans. This place has been around since 1880 and serve many of the same classic dishes, like sherried turtle soup. The two-story building is also iconic with it's turquoise and white exterior and striped awnings.
