Religious Organization Cancels Willie Robertson Speaking Event Due To Duck Commander Wine

Family Ministries, a Bristol, Tennessee religious based organization, has cancelled an upcoming speaking event with Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson because of the Robertson family's latest business venture, Duck Commander Wine.

Our greatest responsibility is to the young people we serve. Therefore, we feel that in light of the recent news, to continue with this event would send mixed messages to the young people who go through our Adolescent Drug and Alcohol program. - Derek Bell, director of development for Family Ministries

The event was scheduled as a fund raising school expansion benefit.

The event's organizers say that despite the Duck Dynasty clan's religious reputation, the family's alcohol business partnership sends the wrong message to children in the ministry.
