Youngsville Man Charged With 2nd Degree Murder In 10-Year Cold Case
56-year-old Millard Hebert of Youngsville is now being held responsible in the 2008 death of Bonnie Ruphard. He's been charged with Second Degree Murder.
On December 6, 2008, Ruphard's body was found in the 400 block of Lanjunie Road. Her death was ruled an apparent homicide.
Two days after Ruphard's body was discovered, possible suspect DNA was collected as evidence from her. While several investigative leads were followed, no suspect was identified and no arrest was made.
But, last week, Acadiana Crime Lab made a DNA hit. It matched the collected DNA evidence to Millard Hebert, who was already in jail from a February 15th arrest this year on unrelated charges. The DNA from taken from that arrest was matched to the DNA taken from ten years ago.
