18-year-old Allen Popillion of Zachary is being charged with four counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and a 16-year-old boy has been charged with three counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder following two shootings on June 11 on the 500 and 400 blocks of Fontenot Road near Opelousas.

Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says the unnamed teenager was arrested in connection to the shooting in the 500 block of Fontenot Road.

In the shooting that Popillion was arrested for, a woman told authorities that glass fell on her that evening in her bedroom after she and her husband heard multiple gunshots. A dark-colored Ford F-150 was caught on a home surveillance system passing in front of the home and multiple shots were fired at the home. Detectives say they found one bullet hole that struck the home.

After multiple witnesses identified Popillion as the shooter, detectives say he admitted to shooting towards the home but stated that he fired into a field and that he only wanted to scare a person that he had an argument with. Four people were inside the home when the shooting happened. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Detectives say both shooting incidents were a result of arguments between the two shooters.

Popillion's bond has been set at $300,000.00.
