Zion Williamson, the 18 year old basketball phenom and consensus #1 overall draft pick in the upcoming 2019 draft, makes it a point to sign as many autographs as possible for fans.

On June 20th, the New Orleans Pelicans will select him with the first pick in the draft. If a fan ask him for an autograph later that night, chances are, he'll sign it.

In the documentary Home Team Hoops, filmed a few years ago when Williamson was featured as a 16 year old in his hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina, he discusses autographs.

Young fans began to ask for Williamson's autograph as early as the 8th grade.

He also liked to ask for autographs, and recalls a moment when he was snubbed by a pair of pro ballers when asking for one as a kid.

"I try to sign every kid’s autograph," Williamson explained. "I don’t want to turn a little kid down because I know it will hurt them because it hurt me. Anthony Davis, John Wall turned me down. So I try to sign everybody’s."

In fairness of Davis and Wall, no one knows the context or situation of the autograph request. All that's known is it motivated Williamson to do whatever he can to make sure no kid feels the same way he did.
