CROWLEY--Residents of Acadia Parish must stay in their homes between 8 p.m. tonight and 6 a.m. tomorrow.

Sheriff K. P. Gibson announced a parishwide curfew and shelter-in-place order for all residents. Gibson cites worsening road conditions as the need for this order. Anyone who violates the order will receive a citation.

Essential workers are exempt from the mandate. However, Gibson says they must show identification if they are stopped by law enforcement.

The order is in effect for the unincorporated areas and all municipalities except for Church Point, which has already implemented a 6 p.m.-6 a.m. curfew.
