Acadia Parish To Hold Hazardous Waste Day

Officials in Acadia Parish will conduct another Hazardous Waste Day Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Rice Arena in Crowley.

Lee Hebert said some people may not realize certain items, such as oil, oil filters, and florescent light bulbs, can not simply be thrown into the general trash.

Items that will not be accepted at Hazardous Waste Day include radioactive waste, PCB oil or light ballasts, dioxin containing waste, explosives, bio-hazardous medical waste, and municipal garbage.
