St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Narcotics agents arrested an Addis man for drugs and firearm charges.

Sheriff's spokesperson Maj. Ginny Higgins reported 35-year-old Chad Fonseca was arrested after attempting to sell more than an ounce of methamphetamine to an undercover officer.

Following his detainment by Narcotics Agents, they located a concealed loaded handgun in his waistband.

Fonseca was subsequently arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine over 28 grams)
  • Illegal Carrying of a Weapons (concealed weapon)
  • Illegal Carrying Of Weapons In The Presence of a CDS
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges.

No bond has been set.
