Homicide in Cecilia: St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help
CECILIA, La. (KPEL News) – A tragic discovery in Cecilia has sparked a homicide investigation, and authorities are asking for the public’s help. On the afternoon of January 4, 2025, deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a body found in a wooded area along the 2200 block of Bushville Highway.
Upon arrival, deputies identified the deceased as 32-year-old Ryan Charles of Arnaudville. The victim, who had been reported missing by his family the previous evening, was found with gunshot wounds.
A nearby resident also told KPEL News that they did hear gunshots in the area early Friday afternoon, though it is unclear if the two events are related.
