Benefit For Paige LaCombe June 8
"Play for Paige", a benefit and Co-Ed Softball Tournament will be held Saturday, June 8 at Neyland Park at 9am to help defray medical expenses for Paige LaCombe.
Paige is an 8 year old who attends Sts. Peter and Paul School in Scott, LA. Paige was diagnosed with epileptic seizures and was put on a new medicaiton in combination with her old medication to help control epileptic seizures. She had a rare, severe reaction to the new medication known as Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) which is the most severe form of Steven Johnson Syndrome (SJS). Over 77% of her body is affected by this. It causes her to burn from the inside out and makes her skin blisters, burn and fall off. It also attacks her entire Respiratory and Gastrointestinal System and can potentially cause blindness. She was transferred to Galveston, Texas where she was treated for 6 weeks. Now on the slow road to recovery Paige has to fight to save her vision, which was severely damaged throughout this horrible process. She will need long term care once she gets out such as physical therapy and continuous care on her eyes. Her eyes have taken a tremendous toll.
Play for Paige is a fund raiser put together by friends and family members to help assist in Paige's long term care. Come out and have fun on Saturday, June 8th at Neyland Park. There will be a co-ed softball tournament, raffles, food, drinks, music, fun jumps, face painting, and many more fun activities for the kids! Come out for a fun filled family day while helping support Paige!!
