Boil Advisory Posted For Buildings On U.L. Campus
Students, faculty, and visitors on campus at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette will need to take special precautions between now and Sunday. The University has placed several buildings under a boil advisory as a precautionary measure.
A new housing development off of Lewis Street is being connected to the water system and until officials have had time to complete the process the boil advisory is in place. Again, this is being done out of an abundance of caution. There have been no issues or illnesses reported with the water on campus.
The boil advisory is expected to remain in place through 10 PM Sunday, August 19. In the meantime, water fountains in the affected buildings have been disconnected and water pressure lowered.
A story published on KATC's website listed the following buildings as being included in the boil advisory.
- All Legacy Park buildings
- All Cajun Village buildings
- Café Lafleur Di Lis
- Parker Hall
- All maintenance facilities
- Child Development Center
- Joel L. Fletcher Hall
- Girard Park Circle Parking Tower
- Stokes Hall
- Clyde L. Rougeou Hall
- Visual Arts Annex
- H.L. Griffin Hall
- James R. Oliver Hall
- Edith Garland Dupre’ Library
- Billeaud Hall
During the boil advisory water must be brought to a boil for a full minute and then allowed to cool before use. If you have further questions perhaps they can be answered by visiting this link provided by the university.
