Opelousas Police were called out to a shooting early this morning according to KLFY.

When the driveby shooting happened, Opelousas Police Chief  Martin McClendon says that a young boy who was at a sleepover with family was hit in the neck. The 10-year-old was also had his shoulder hurt when he was grazed by gunfire while he was sleeping.

All of this happened at around 3 o'clock this morning at a home on North Oak Street.

McClendon says while the investigation is ongoing, they are trying to determine if the shooter and the people that lived in the home had some sort of disagreement.

The chief says that they are also investigating a shooting on Lincoln Street of a woman, and he says detectives believe the two cases are linked in some way.
