54 year old Joe Ali Youssef of Broussard pleaded guilty today to one count of attempting to ship guns and ammunition to Lebanon. At Youssef's guilty plea evidence was presented that Customs Officers conducted a random check of two containers on April 17, 2014 and found four pistols, two rifles, a shotgun and more than 8,000 rounds of various caliber ammunition along with body armor. These items were found in secret compartments in household furniture. Records indicated the containers were to be shipped to an address near Beirut, Lebanon. Youssef is a naturalized US citizen who was born in Lebanon.

Agents searched Youssef's home in Broussard and found more firearms and ammunition as well as records between himself and the shipping company.
