Can You Provide A Good Home For A Pet?
Each day there are more cats and dogs than you might imagine in area shelters just waiting to go home to a loving family.
The little guy pictured here is Buddy. We were together for 15 years, and he brought an immense amount of joy to my life, and I to his. He was adopted by me after being abandoned.
Lafayette's Animal Control Center will be hosting what they call a "Second Chance Saturday' adoption event this Saturday and every second Saturday of each month to try to get a forever home for our fur friends.
Can you provide a second chance to a cat or dog?
This Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Lafayette shelter will open their days for anyone who might be interested in adopting a "fur-ever" friend, and a lot of the beginning work is already done for you.
Each pet that is adoptable has already been vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped, so those costs are already out of the way.
Now there is an adoption fee for your new family member as kittens and cats are $80 while puppies and dogs are $100. Stop by at 613 West Pont Des Mouton Road in Lafayette to take a look at all of the wonderul pets that are waiting to go home with a loving person.
What if you can't stop by this Saturday, July 8? Each second Saturday of the month the shelter is open along with Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For more information you can go to www.lafayettela.gov/aCPlus or https://www.facebook.com/LafayetteAnimalControlCenter.
You can even buy a gift certificate to the shelter.
If you have never adopted a pet, you can't even imagine the love that these "fur-ever" friends will bring to your life.
