Louisiana Woman Busted for Animal Cruelty after Bad Smell
Louisiana law enforcement officials were called out to a woman's home on April 2 after animal control officials who had gone to the home asked for a welfare concern check.
A sad situation was discovered by animal control and sheriff's deputies at the home of the woman.
What Was Discovered?
According to a KTVE report, the deputies were called out to the home of Janelle Kay Mills on a welfare concern check after animal control officials walked into the house and discovered the smell of decomposition.
The officials with animal control had gone to the home to discover that there were cats all enclosed in one bedroom of the home.
There were multiple dogs also discovered in the home.

What Else Was Discovered At The House?
The most disturbing discovery was the dog that was found in the plastic bag. In addition, officials say that each room of the home was littered with both urine and feces.
Officials say that the living situation was very poor for the animals involved, and that the kennels that were kept on site for the dogs were dirty.
Sheriff's deputies on the scene handed over the care of the many animals to animal control.
What Animals Were Found?
Mills was found to be in possession of the following:
- One dog in a plastic bag that had previously died
- 48 live dogs
- 7 live cats
