We could all use some holiday cheer this year. The City of Carencro will be helping you out on that front real soon.

The 23rd annual Carencro Country Christmas will be held on Saturday, December 5 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Carencro Community Center (5115 N. University Avenue).

Actually, the day's festivities start a bit earlier than that as the Crusaders Jingle 5K Run will start at 8:00 am. To participate, you can register online at CrusadersJingleRun.itsyourrace.com. The run is sponsored by Carencro Catholic School.

The main event will have arts, crafts, choirs and food vendors throughout the day. At 10:00 am, families will be able to take pictures in front of a "Traditional Christmas scene."

The main event is free to attend, however, donations of winter clothing will be accepted (hoodies, coats, hats, gloves, and scarves).

COVID-19 precautions will be followed.

To participate as a vendor or in the home and businesses holiday decorating (dates to be announced soon), please contact Margaret Rozas at 338-896-6686, 337-280-9570 or email carencrocountrychristmas@gmail.com

The Carencro Country Christmas is sponsored by the Carencro Business Association.
