CMA Fest is Still On for June in Nashville

UPDATE****** We are hearing reports from Nashville that this year's festival has been cancelled / postponed, but we have no official confirmation yet. It has not been updated on their website or social media as of right now. We will update when we have more info.

CMA Fest, the biggest and most historic country music festival in the United States, is still on, as of today. The festival, which originated in 1972 as Fan Fair, is scheduled to run June 4-7 in Nashville, and brings hundreds of thousands of fans, and tourism dollars, to Music City USA. And this will be the 16th year that a network television special will be filmed during the festivities, to be aired at a later date. And we have a lot of folks from Acadiana who travel to Nashville every year for the fun.

An official statement on their website was posted on March 11, and says:

'CMA is first and foremost committed to the health and safety of our fans, artists and community. We are continuously monitoring the very latest guidance from local, state and national authorities to carefully evaluate the spread of COVID-19. Additionally, we are regularly tracking travel advisories and restrictions, which currently do not include restrictions for any location in the United States.

As of today, CMA Fest will proceed as scheduled June 4-7 in Nashville. We are taking appropriate steps to ensure festival grounds will be safe and comfortable for all attendees, including enhanced sanitation protocols and hygiene standards'

Nashville was devastated by tornadoes on March 3rd, and is still, like the rest of us, trying to deal with the coronavirus outbreak as well. We'll keep you updated about CMA Fest, and whether their plan to actually go through with it is still going to happen as this epidemic shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.
