A Crowley man with an extensive criminal history has been arrested following an alleged armed robbery Friday night.

Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson says 35-year-old Perry Davis allegedly walked up to a man at an ATM, pulled out a handgun, and demanded money. When police arrived at the scene, the victim was able to give them a description of Davis, and they were able to find him.

"After resistance from the suspect, police were able to take him into custody," Gibson says.

Davis was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault of a police officer, and resisting arrest.

Davis' criminal arrest history includes narcotics violations, burglary, and "other types of violent crimes," according to Gibson. That history dates back to 1994.
