UPDATED: In a press release, St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson Major Ginny Higgins has announced that the curfew in the Parish has been lifted, effective immediately.

Beginning tonight (April 1), a curfew is going into effect across St. Martin Parish from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for all of St. Martin Parish including the municipalities of Breaux Bridge, Henderson, Cecilia, Parks, and St. Martinville.

Parish President Chester Cedars says the curfew prohibits and/or controls pedestrian and vehicular traffic, except essential emergency vehicles and personnel. "This curfew does not apply to anyone going to and from employment or any essential business activity as specifically defined by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security," says Cedars.
