Deckhand Drowns in The Gulf of Mexico
It is being reported that a deckhand drowned over the weekend.
KLFY is reporting that the situation took place after a man fell off of a crew boat that was attempting to tie up to a platform.
The incident took place on Saturday, November 26, 2022, 65 miles south of Vermilion Bay in the Gulf of Mexico.
U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Gabriel Wisdom confirmed to KLFY that watch-standers recieved a radio call around 10:30 am on Saturday, November 26, 2022, stating that a man had fallen overboard.
Boats and aircraft were immediately dispatched to the location.
The victim was located in the water but was pulled under due to the heavy seas and did not resurface.
The Houma Today reported earlier in the day that the victim that did pass away in the incident was Duane Davis.
