Duson Man Accused Of Shoplifting

52-year-old Kenneth Christopher of Duson has been arrested and faces multiple theft charges related to shoplifting in the Lafayette area.

On Thursday, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a Dollar General Store in the 800 block LA-1252 in Carencro for a shoplifting in progress. Eye witnesses gave them a description of the stolen merchandise, the suspect's vehicle and the license plate number.

The vehicle was later found at a Family Dollar in the 2400 block of LA-93 in Carencro where deputies could see the stolen items in plain view inside the suspect's vehicle.

Deputies say Christopher allegedly stole 194 items in excess of $570. They were able to return a majority of them.

Christopher faces 3 counts of Organized Retail Theft.
