Edwards Likely To Cancel In-Person Classes Through School Year
A formal announcement is expected Tuesday, but all signs point to Governor Edwards canceling in-person classes through the end of this school year. An official proclamation about how K-12 schools will finish the 2019-2020 school year will detail how school districts will proceed. The state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) is also expected to make recommendations. During remarks in tornado-ravaged Monroe on Monday, Edwards said he would call for expanded online learning as students finish the school year.
