Several local groups have teamed up to create a t-shirt called "Feed the Envie" in order to raise money to help out workers in the hospitality industry.

EatLafayette by Lafayette Travel has partnered with United Way of Acadiana, Coca-Cola and Talk-N-T Shirts to allow the net proceeds from selling the shirts to be given to United Way.

UWA will then give grants to workers who are employed by our local hotels and eateries who are struggling financially.

When the order came down for non-essential establishments to close their doors it had a chilling impact on food establishments and the hotel industry. Now, with the t-shirt sales, those who are wondering how to pay the bills will be able to get some help.

President and CEO of Lafayette Travel says,

We know our locally owned restaurants and hotels are hurting right now with no end in sight, and they are doing the best they can to make do in this current environment. EatLafayette has been a partner of our locally owned restaurants for 15 years, and we hope the public will rally to purchase this t-shirt and support the workers who help make our area so hospitable, special and unique.

If you want to buy a t-shirt, the price is $25 dollars and you'll need to pay taxes along with shipping and handling. They can be purchased from Talk-N-T Shirts by clicking this link: https://stores.inksoft.com/feed_the_envie/shop/home.

Bertholot adds,

We'd like to thank Coca-Cola, partner of EatLafayette for many years, for being the first to step up and help sponsor the shirt. Talk-N-T Shirts and United Way of Acadiana also deserve special thanks for jumping on board and helping us turn it around so quickly.
