FACT CHECK: 4,000 Terror Suspects Have Not Been Arrested At Border
FOX's Chris Wallace talked down a common claim that Trump Administration officials have been making regarding the southern border. It centers on the claim by Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen (and others in recent months) that roughly 4,000 "suspected terrorists" have been captured trying to enter the country through the US-Mexico border. That data point is simply not true.
According to the State Department, those arrests all happened at airports- not along the southern border. He also hits on the definition of "special interest aliens" as being from a country who has ever produced a terrorist. These people are not "suspected terrorists" as many have claimed.
