Fatal Crash In St. Landry Parish

State police say a two vehicle crash on La. Highway 93 south of Sunset has claimed the life of a 32-year-old man.

Troopers say 25-year-old John Broussard  of Cankton was driving an SUV south on Highway 93 early Sunday morning when he ran off the road, then overcorrected causing the vehicle to rollover. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in the middle of the roadway. Broussard was able to exit the vehicle but his passenger, 32-year-old Steven Francis of Sunset, remained in the vehicle.

Investigators say a second vehicle then crashed into the passenger side of the SUV. Francis was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers suffered minor injuries.
