Good News On South Louisiana Job Front
An announcement by two large companies at the Port of Iberia is expected to make a big impact on the South Louisiana economy. The announcement made by Iberia Industrial Development Foundation President Mike Tarantino suggests that several hundred new jobs could be created by new projects at the port.
Tarantino told the Louisiana Radio Network that the Port of Iberia offers companies a great environment for success.
Especially those who are interested in ultra-deep water activity and more and more people are discovering that Iberia Parish has got a great strategic location and a great skilled labor work force.
It is expected that projects announced by Primoris Services Corp. and Dynamic Industries could create as many as 600 jobs for those seeking work in South Louisiana. Tarantino says this announcement as well as plans by other industries in the port could really have a significant impact on the employment opportunities available in the area.
This could mean well over 1,000 jobs by the time it all comes through and we couldn’t be more happy with these companies and their investment in our area.
The Port of Iberia is especially well situated for businesses that serve the oil and gas industry. Not only is the port in a great location but its proximity to U.S. Highway 90, "America's Energy Corridor" ,makes moving materials in and out of the port easily accessible and cost effective.
