An accident on I-10 is causing additional traffic problems on the interstate. Earlier today an 18-wheeler leaking chemicals on the side of the highway forced State Police to close I-10 eastbound from the Roanoke Exit to the Jennings exit. Now, the westbound side is closed as well. At mile post 56, a car rear-ended an 18-wheeler carrying hazardous materials, causing that truck to leak as well. There were minor injuries, but no fatalities. Try to avoid these areas if at all possible, but if you have to go near them, here are the latest detours:

I-10 Westbound traffic will exit at Exit 64 (Jennings) and travel north on LA 26 US 190 west.

I-10 Eastbound traffic will exit at Exit 44 (Alexandria Exit) and travel north on US 165 to US 190 east.
