A major vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on I-49 Southbound at the Gloria Switch Overpass has led to a full shutdown of the southbound lanes this morning. The incident occurred around 7:04 a.m., leaving one individual in critical condition.
Lafayette Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded quickly to the scene and is currently investigating. Details surrounding the cause of the crash have not yet been released, but authorities are working to gather information.
