Dr. Joseph Bocchini, Pediatric Infectious Specialist with Willis-Knighton Health System, talks with our news affiliate 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the Coronavirus and things folks can do to limit their chances of getting or spreading the disease.

Bocchini reiterates that for most who contract Coronavirus, the symptoms are not serious. "We already know that at least 80% of people who have...this virus have a mild, self-limited infection. It wouldn't be a surprise to know that a number of people have had it and gotten better."

The doctor also reiterates that it is the incubation period of about two weeks that makes the Coronavirus so problematic "Once a person is infected and the incubation period begins it may take up to fourteen days before that person will exhibit any signs of infection. However, somewhere along that timeline that person is going to become infectious and will be able to spread the virus." Bocchini adds that it is unknown for now at what point in the incubation process the patient does become infectious.
