Once Popular Restaurant Chain Down to One Louisiana Location

It was once one of the most popular restaurant chains in the country.  It was a cool place to meet friends and maybe watch the game.... how times change.  TGI Friday's announced this week that they are closing 36 underperforming locations across the country.

Ironically, Friday's stated in a press release that the closings were part of "the brand's ongoing growth strategy."  The company also announced that they were selling off eight previously corporate-owned restaurants in the northeast to its former CEO Ray Blanchette.

Here are the locations Friday's recently closed:

California

Four Locations in Texas Were Closed

The 4 Texas locations that closed are:

• Corpus Christi, TX: 5217 S Padre Island Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78411
• North Arlington, TX: 1524 N Collins Street, Arlington, TX 76011
• Houston Alameda, TX: 12895 Gulf Fwy, Houston, TX 77034
• The Woodlands, TX: 1105 Lake Woodlands Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77380

Virginia 

• Springfield: 6751-B Frontier Dr. 
• Woodbridge/Potomac Mills: 13237 Worth Ave. 
• Fredericksburg: 1160 Carl D Silver Pkwy 
• Manassas: 7401 Sudley Rd. 

The only remaining location in Louisiana is in Harvey, at 1201 Manhattan Blvd. The last location in Shreveport that was located on Youree Drive closed in July of 2017.  You also might remember there was a TGI Fridays location downtown back in the 70's in the current Blind Tiger location before it became Chelsea's in the Square.
